The War Remnants Museum is a war museum at 28 Vo Van Tan, in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. It primarily contains exhibits relating to the American phase of the Vietnam War.

On 30 April, 1975, the resistance of the Vietnamese people won complete victory: peace, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country is restored.

On September 4, 1975, the Exhibition House for US and Puppet Crimes was opened to serve residents aiming to retain hero evidence of Vietnamese people during the fighting against foreign invader as well as denounce crimes and destructive consequences of war. On November 10, 1990, the name of Exhibition House for US and Puppet Crimes was change to Exhibition House for Crimes of War and Aggression and then changed to War Remnants Museum on July 4, 1995.

Nowadays, War Remnants Museum is belong to Ho Chi Minh Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism. It is also located in Vietnam museum system, museums for world peace and member of International Council of Museums (ICOM). The War Remnants Museum concentrates on doing research, collection, storage, preservation and exhibition of document, photographs and historic objects about the evidence of the crime and the consequences of the war caused by foreign invading forces. Thereby, the Museum raises public’s awareness, especially the young generation, about the anti-colonial movement for freedom and national independence and awareness of anti-war and invasion to protect peace, friendship and solidarity between the peoples of the world.

The museum stores more than 20,000 documents, artifacts and films, in which more than 1,500 documents, artifacts, films have been put in 8 topics for permanent exhibitions. In 35 years of operation, the museum has welcomed over 15 million visitors at home and abroad and currently around 500,000 visitors each year, the War Remnants Museum is a destination of culture and tourism highly trusted by both domestic and international public.
